Greece: Part 3 {last few from santorini}

{sweeping caldera views}
 {the fish pedicures!}
 {we will find our way to the wine eventually :)}
at the time we weren't sure if we were taking enough photos....yep

One of our biggest concerns in planning this trip was making sure we had adequate time on each island. We spent 3 days & 4 nights in Santorini and it gave us just enough time to cross all the touristy things off our list {like the donkeys!} and still have a chance to unwind over leisurely dinners or poolside. While Santorini is known for it's views, there are also a ton of fun activities around the island.  I wanted to share a few of our recommendations here today before we move on. If you have any further questions, shoot me an email and I'll do my best to respond...

  1. Rent an ATV for the day and explore the whole island
  2. Take the stairs down to Ammoudi Bay and have lunch and/or dinner. Have the restaurant call you a cab to go back up to town.
  3. Walk down the winding trail to the sea in Fira (by all the donkeys) and take the cable cars back up
  4. There are tons of wineries around the island: we did Sigalas and Santo tastings. Santo has amazing views of the Caldera – we would recommend doing a sunset here or at least planning to stay here for a while to sip wine and take it all in.
  5. Hike between Fira and Oia (the morning is best before it gets too hot)
  6. Watch the sunset in Oia
  7. Get a fish pedicure :)

  1. Lucky’s Souvlakis – in Fira, this is a great lunch spot
  2. Roka – in Oia, there is no view here but the food is very authentic
  3. Sunset or Dimtris – in Ammoudi Bay, get a table on the water
  4. Ochre Wine Bistro – in Oia, go here for the sunset views
  5. 1800 – in Oia, we ended up canceling our dinner reservations here but heard this place is the best
happy weekend!
summer is officially here...

Your pictures are beautiful! I went to Athens and Crete 30 years ago. Seeing your pictures makes me want to go to Santorini! It's just beautiful!

Have a great weekend!
