weekend recap: DC

Wednesday, February 26

Well this trip started out as a bit of a disaster. To make a long story short, my flight didn’t land in DC until 1:30am and dear Bizzy picked me up in the dead of the night so I wouldn’t have to take a cab. That girl is the sweetest!  We finally made it to her house at 2am and crashed into bed exhausted. The only redeeming thing about that evening was the enchanting drive-by of the monuments in the dead of the night. Oh, DC… you are gorgeous.

The rest of the trip turned up from there, though!  I got to spend all of Friday playing with little Annie and her mom. We sipped on pink bubbles over a girl’s dinner that evening. And we lucked out with the most amazing weather on Saturday which allowed us to visit some monuments. No Wahoo trip is complete without a little Mr. Jefferson and UVA basketball :).

Of course, the whole reason we came together was for Annie’s baptism on Sunday morning. It was a beautiful service celebrating this beautiful baby girl and her wonderful parents. God is so so good, you know! I felt like the whole weekend was one big hug; surrounded by friends that are like family, laughter, and realizing how God has provided amazing lives for each of us. It was pretty special.

Sorry, I’m not sorry about that mushiness. The end.
