California Recap: Los Angeles

Wednesday, May 29

One of my friends from college and my NYC days got married in Santa Barbara over the weekend! David and I flew into LAX on Thursday night to spend some extra time with one of his buddies in Santa Monica before we ventured up the coast for the wedding. We had the best time! There is something so special about that part of the country and I didn't want to leave, really.

I've broken this post up into 3 parts because we have so many pictures {surprise, surprise}. I hope you don't mind! First up is Los Angeles...

^^first stop in Los Angeles, obviously^^

^^we took a morning walk on the beach and visited the Santa Monica Boardwalk^^
^^we had 2 hours to spare before our lunch date with Greg so we stalked some the of big sights like the Hollywood sign at the Griffith Observatory^^
^^the Chinese Theater and the Hollywood stars^^
^^the Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive; I'm also convinced I saw Brody Jenner getting gas for his Porsche nearby^^
^^our favorite part of the day was renting bikes and hitting the Venice Boardwalk^^
^^and you can't beat this view for happy hour and melon margaritas...^^
thanks for tour guiding, Greg!

We capped off the evening with a delicious dinner in Hollywood at Hatfield's. David's co-worker recommended it to us and we loved it. The food was excellent {don't miss the croque madame} and reasonably priced!

In case you are interested...we stayed at The Viceroy Santa Monica and would definitely recommend it. The location was two blocks from the beach and it was super trendy, so we fit right in ;)

Next up: our first day in paradise aka Santa Barbara
