the great pizza search that ended in the Woodlands last weekend

Wednesday, January 16

If you've been reading this blog for long {this most likely only includes my parents}, you know that we might have an unhealthy obsession with pizza. I was spoiled during my brief living stint in New York City, what can I say?

It's been hard for me to find pizza here in Texas that rivals the NYC pies. And believe me, we have tried. You can see some additional pizza related posts here and here. Let's not judge...we do eat salads and healthy things too!

But last weekend we may have found it! The best pizza in all of Houston {although the jury's still out on whether the Woodlands counts as Houston}! Huzzah!

*Enter Grimaldi's Pizzeria.* Aka. the original Brooklyn Bridge pizzeria and also my very favorite NYC spot.

They opened a few locations around the country and we lucked out with one of them! I was a little skeptical that it wouldn't be as delicious as the northeast location. But, it was. And in case you were wondering, they even import the water from New York - which is kind of a big deal. As all pizza experts know that the big difference between pizza made in NYC and the rest is the dough.

As it stands today, our {Houston} favorite pizza spots::

Best overall: Grimaldi's Pizzeria

Date Night: Dolce Vita

For ordering in on a Sunday night: Collinas

For that last minute I don't know what to make for dinner so let's just order delivery: Papa Johns

And with thattttt, I'm pretty sure I should hit the gym.

OMG! AGREED! I went out to the Woodlands with my parents when Grimaldi's first opened out there and it really is SO good. Glad you're back from your blogging break!

Dolce Vita was definitely my wife and I's favorite pizza place when we lived in Houston; it was the closest you could get to authentic Italian pizza.
