our christmas vacation

Monday, January 7

Hello and Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We spent the last few days gearing up for 2013; taking down Christmas decorations, cleaning, cooking. It was so relaxing - despite the 2 crazy football games we watched on Saturday. Go Texans! Go Packers!

Today, I wanted to run through a quick recap of our Christmas vacation in the snowy Midwest. I can't tell you how much fun it is to catch up with family - but I feel like it's always over in the blink of an eye. Poof! A great reminder for me to live in the moment.

Here are a few snapshots from my iPhone:

The highlight of the trip was getting to spend time with these people. Here we are all bundled up at a pub in downtown Milwaukee. We had just watched the Packers win - and got to sample a few local brews. It was one of the only times in recent memory that it has been just the five of us sitting around a table for dinner. I loved catching up!
My newest Christmas obsession: Dark Chocolate Covered Peppermint Joe Joe's. Don't mind if I do. // We flew United's new Dreamliner into Chicago. So chic!
Charlotte got a new Buddy the Elf costume for Christmas. She loves it, obviously. // Latte signed with love.
A white Christmas indeed! I hate to admit it but my blood has thinned since moving to Texas. I also don't own any warm clothes. Needless to day, we loved the winter wonderland but gosh it was freeeezing!
Kolaches // And that's a pic of my dad in a homemade helicopter. His friend made it in his garage. Yep.
Since before I can remember, my parents and grandparents would take us to the Forum in Milwaukee for breakfast. Every single time I would get the Fluffy French toast. To continue the tradition, guess what I ordered on our Christmas Eve visit?
Christmas lights and all bundled up.
Loved spending time with these ladies!
On Christmas Eve, our family went out to seafood dinner that consisted of champagne and oysters. I might just start this as a little tradition...
I'll be back tomorrow with a quick recap of our trip to Cabo!

Have a great week! Let's make it count...
