Second Anniversary Trip, Part 1 - San Francisco

Wednesday, September 12

Last week, David and I took a 4 day vacation to San Francisco and Napa, California for our second anniversary. I've always been in love with Cali - but this trip confirmed it! I left my heart there...

Here are a few photos, if you'd like to see...
In San Fran, we stayed at the Parc 55 hotel right near Union Square (convenient location, nice amenities, and quiet - except for the XXX fraternities last night shenanigans). After parking our ride for the weekend we opted for lunch in China Town. Here we are eating some dim sum at the Great Eastern (aka David's heave on earth - that man loves his Chinese food). Don't miss the hot and sour soup or the sesame chicken.
Because the weather was so gorgeous, we quickly decided to forgo public transportation and walk around the city for the day. The sun was shining and there was 0% humidity which felt delightful to us Texans.
David signed us up for a segway tour of fisherman's wharf. Here's a photo of our rides. How cool are we?! :)
As you can see, we got some pretty spectacular views of Alcatraz and the city. My favorite view was of the Williams Sonoma corporate headquarters - I almost catapulted off my segway. haha.
The hills, oh, the hills...I had blisters the rest of the week. Oops!
Later we took a break from walking to have some Irish coffee at a spot that is known for it. It was a rare treat - and warmed up our windblown bodies. It was a crowded bar but we lucked out with front row seats to watch the bar tenders whip up batches upon batches of these things. The secret: heavy whipping cream and heavy on the liquor...
Before we knew it the sun was setting and it was time to clean up for dinner. We made reservations at a small Italian spot, Perbacco, and prepared ourselves for the upcoming wine consumption by splitting a bottle of Pinot Noir and some pasta.

Part 2 continues tomorrow...and then it's back to regular programming.
