How to cure a winter cold (and other thoughts for a Thursday)

Thursday, December 1

Here's my darling husband using a nebulizer to cure a winter cold. Have you heard of such a thing? I hadn't either until my sweet mother-in-law insisted it could cure the sniffles David and I contracted a couple days earlier. So there we were huddled around this little smoke producing machine on Sunday night and doing our best to breathe in the fumes. And I swear it worked. Sniffles gone. Cold cured. I think this mother-in-law of mine is on to something...

I'm taking a sushi cooking class tonight with a new friend, actually she is an old friend, but we only knew each other as babies. It's a long and cool story buckle up. You see the story begins with our moms. They grew up together in a small town about 1.5 hours outside of Chicago. They were best friends throughout school, went to the same college, pledged the same sorority, and moved to Chicago together after graduation. Besties for life - you get the picture. Well, low and behold, their daughter {just a little younger than me} now lives in Houston. And we met when both our moms were visiting us on the same weekend. Small world, huh? So here we are. And here they are. I still can't get over it.

I think that I might purchase of all my Christmas presents online this year. I just can't bring myself to go to the overly-crowded, frantic mall with overly-stressed, aggressive shoppers. I would much prefer to sip a latte and browse from the comfort of my own home. Thoughts? Is anyone else with me?

My boss asked me for my career goals last week. Gulp. I think that's a hard question for anyone to answer much less a twenty-something that has no idea what she wants to do with her life. And has twenty-something dream jobs. But we will leave that discussion for another day because I don't want to be a buzz-kill on this beautiful Thursday morning.

It was my turn to pick the Netflix this week. I went with Horrible Bosses.

The end.
