2011 - my very favorite year. Ever.

Friday, December 30

Here are a few of our favorite memories from 2011.

In January, we went to Vegas to ring in the new year with friends {and Kim Kardashian}! We got to eat at Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill {delicious!} and we saw Cirque du Soleil - O.

In February, we watched the Packers win the Superbowl! And I visited Richmond to see my family and high school friends.

In March, my mom and my two aunts came to visit us in Houston. Here we are below at the Azalea Trail in River Oaks. Then, hubby and I checked out the rodeo {and I had my first fried oreo - let's not talk about it} to see Lady Antebellum. And David had a work trip in Paris - and I jumped in his suitcase so we could explore the city together {it may have been the best trip...ever}!

In April, Elizabeth came to visit Houston. We watched VCU in the sweet 16, ate crawfish, and Charlotte fell in love. Then we went to the Lady Gaga concert with friends. And Katie had two bridal showers for her upcoming wedding.

In May, oh May, we celebrated the marriage of Katie and Billy {it was so amazing}. And then we went to Hawaii with my family. Poor David had to work the whole time - but he somehow managed to squeeze in some fun in the sun.

In June, we went to our friends wedding in Charlottesville. And played with some friends before they moved to Dallas.

In July, we watched my cousin get married in the Midwest, hosted a barbeque, and spent time in the baby pool with Charlotte. I also reunited with my college friends in Washington, DC. And most importantly, we celebrated our one year anniversary {yay!}.

In August, I went to the Katy Perry concert with girlfriends. We visited the annual White Linen Night in our neighborhood {and nearly sweated to death}. I had another reunion with girlfriends in North Carolina {and made a little movie about it too}. And David took me on several little dates - here, here, and here.

In September, Blair came to visit us in Houston for the week; we took her to Austin {and almost witnessed Texas burning down}. Charlotte turned two! And my mom and two aunts also came to visit.

In October, we had some pumpkin love, I got bangs and we celebrated Halloween. We also went on a spontaneous trip to Vegas where we ate lots of food and saw Elton John perform {I'm still impressed by that man}. The next week our friends, the Brackens, cam to visit! And then we traveled back to VA for a wedding. Geez, October.

In November, we saw the Texans beat the Jaguars for my father-in-laws birthday. We had a baby shower and David had a golf days with his dad. Our great friends got married and hosted the most beautiful wedding ever. David's family celebrated Thanksgiving early and David carved the turkey. And then we flew to New York City to spend Thanksgiving with my family.

And finally, in December, I learned how to roll sushi and we celebrated Lights in the Heights. We tried out crossfit and nearly died. And then we celebrated Christmas in Houston.

2011 has proved to be an amazing year - dare I say our best yet! That's not to say there weren't up and downs, because there were - as there will always be...but David and I couldn't be happier with the memories and experiences we faced during the last 12 months. The best part being I finally felt settled in the new little city of mine.

And to be honest, 2012 is already looking just as bright.

So long, 2011! Thanks for being good to us.
